Senior Planet Announces New Technology and Wellness Classes for Local Seniors
Senior Planet is offering a variety of in-person classes from June 4 to September 4, 2026, focusing on digital literacy, health resources, and scam prevention for Waco's older adult community.

Older adults in Waco have a fresh opportunity to boost their digital skills and wellness knowledge this summer, as Senior Planet unveils its latest roster of in-person classes. The diverse catalog, running from June 4 through September 4, 2026, features instruction on a range of pertinent topics, all designed to enhance daily life and foster connection.
Among the offerings, attendees can explore "Exploring Online Health Resources," learning to navigate sites like MedlinePlus for reliable health information, and "Finding Money-Saving Programs Online," which guides participants in locating free and low-cost services for food and utilities. Additionally, sessions like "YouTube" and "Reddit at a Glance" will introduce participants to popular online platforms for entertainment and information.
Health-focused classes include "Exploring RX Drug Resources Online" with Anameris Sasso, teaching how to compare prescription prices and access trustworthy drug information, and "MyChart," an overview of the digital portal for managing health records. Participants can also attend "Digital Tools for Brain Health" to discover technology's role in mental engagement.
Crucial for personal safety is the "Understanding Fraud & Scams" lecture, providing insights into protecting oneself from common fraud schemes. Grace Maa will also lead an "Intro to Social Media" class, familiarizing attendees with today’s most prevalent social platforms.
These classes will be hosted at various community locations, including the Nancy H. Dacek North Potomac Community Recreation Center, Benjamin Gaither Center, Aspen Hill Library, White Oak Community Recreation Center, Holiday Park Senior Center, and Olney Library.
