Hello Bello Shifts Diaper Strategy in Waco, Impacting Nearly 70 Jobs
Hello Bello is ceasing diaper manufacturing operations at its Waco facility, opting to source diapers from an external vendor instead. This strategic change, though not a full closure of the plant, will result in the layoff of 67 employees.

The Hello Bello facility in Waco is adjusting its production model by discontinuing its in-house diaper manufacturing. While the plant, located on Texas Central Parkway, will continue its personal care and wipes production and shipping activities, it will transition to acquiring its diapers from a third party.
This operational shift will lead to job reductions, with 67 employees affected. A Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) was filed with the Texas Workforce Commission on September 28, 2026, indicating these layoffs are slated to become effective on November 27, 2026.
Hello Bello initially opened its substantial 312,000-square-foot diaper manufacturing plant in Waco in 2021, situated in the former Kimberly-Clark building. At the time of its launch, the company, co-founded by actors Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, had plans to create hundreds of local jobs and inject significant economic investment into McLennan County.
The company has undergone significant corporate changes recently, including filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in late 2023 and subsequently being acquired by Hildred Capital Management. For those impacted by the upcoming layoffs in the Heart of Texas Workforce Development Area, assistance with employment transition and job-placement services will be available through the Texas Workforce Commission and Workforce Solutions Heart of Texas.
